The Fighting Method University curriculum consists of principles and techniques as taught by Larry Hartsell. In the mix is JKD, FMA, ISG and conditioning. Classes are broken into Freshman (8th, 7th), Sophomore (6th, 5th), Junior (4th, 3rd) and Senior (2nd, 1st) classes.

Freshman class focuses on the basics. The jab, the cross, the hook, the side kick, etc. This is where you work on the tools of the trade. This class pretty much goes at the pace of whomever is in the class and has a very strict curriculum outline designed to prepare students for their future in combative martial arts.

Sophomore class is where you begin to put all of the tools together and start testing where they are effective. Things really start moving forward and the pace of the class is taken up a knotch. The curriculum in less strict, as individuals will begin to find what works best for them. Expect your body and mind to be smokin' by the end of each session.

Junior classes continue to trim away the unessentials and really test what you are learning. Sparring is a key component of this; so this class includes a lot of sparring.

Senior classes focus on the what if's and helps each student really prepare to be able to share the knowledge they've learned as well as continue to improve their personal expression of combative martial arts.

It is expected that higher grades will continue to attend lesser grade classes as perticipating in these will continue to strenthen the basics. Higher grade classes are not open to lesser grades.

The Catch Wrestling class is all about grappling, Catch-As-Catch-Can style! Be prepared for a work out. It's recommended that you come prepared with a mouth piece, groin protection and wrestling shoes; be sure you don't forget to hydrate and we recommend you bring a towel. Note: Due to the nature of this course, it is absolutely required that everyone have good hygiene; this is 100% enforced and is required for participation.
